I don't have a specific preference. Prose and poetry all the way. <3

Novels.

There's so much more you can do with them compared to short stories. Though I do enjoy writing a short story when an idea hits me that fits into that length.

I don't write.. but if I did, I would write about more abstract things like concepts or ideas.

haha, just kidding. I don't really have a preference, though I guess my emphasis is novels, because I want to be published. Though, I enjoy all writing :D

There's a big market for short stories and poems to be published in literary magazines - you'd be surprised. It's actually probably easier for someone to get a shorter work published than for someone to get like a novel published - but don't quote me on it. I've never actually been published myself; only have talked to people who have been.

i'm good at short stories more than other forms of writing. it also moves along so you can quickly get the story down before gettin writer's block or have to go to work or something :aww:

it's also more of a story than poetry usually and there is no need for form or rhyme and it flows better than poems do.

Novels you can dive deeper into a character and see their life over many chapters. Short stories you can see the character, but it doesn't seem like 'forever' you've known them.

Grab a good short story anthology and read a few stories - the best short fiction writers can make characters feel like old pals.

I like short stories because I don't have to commit to how long it is, and often I have a REALLY stupid story that is just stuck in my head, and I cna't move on to anything else til i get the mess out of my brain, so I write, regardless of how terrible it is, and then I can move on.

I want to write a novel eventually, I am sort of working on... several...

Short Stories. It's quick and easy and I can always tell my favorite stories in just a few thousand words. Novels burn me out... and I'm always worried that I'm fucking up when writing poetry.

Ah, but poetry is very hard to screw up because it's very loosely define. :dummy:

Novels do require a lot of patience and time. I've only finished one because of NaNoWriMo.

Short stories; usually epics, though. The reason is because I know both myself and what little audience I have tends to be *ABSURDLY* short on time and/or attention span.

It depends on my mood. I have an atraction to novels because I can get many 'stories' out of them. But I also love the simplicity that a short story allows while still being an amazing gateway to a different world.

 Short stories are great when well-written. But novels are good too if you have the time and patience for them.
